About Us
Your Chinquapin Community
The Chinquapin Community Corporation is a neighborhood with a non-profit entity with a charter of Bylaws filed with South Carolina’s Secretary of State and Covenants and Restrictions recorded with the Greenwood County Clerk of Court pertaining to each Phase.
Operated by a Special Tax District at the pleasure of County Council, three Commissioners function as the government to determine expenditures made by the County Treasurer. Day-to-day, or what would traditionally be considered “hoa” matters are handled by a Board that runs separately from the Tax District.
All Residents are part of the Tax District, as the annual dues are collected in your property tax bill by the County.
Everyone is encouraged to be involved and have input at the annual Tax District meetings (usually each January) to keep informed of our budget and projects.
Welcome to the Neighborhood
With the first homes constructed in the late 1950’s, Chinquapin is a well-established and beloved neighborhood operating as a Special Tax District of the County of Greenwood. Located on the West side of the County, homes vastly range in both size and style, creating
an appealing neighborhood for young and older residents.
Our pond is an attractive feature for fishing, kayaking, and non-motorized vessels.
A large covered pavilion with picnic tables, overhead lighting and ceiling fans is yet another amenity that is free for use by residents of the Tax District
for various purposes such as community picnics, parties and meetings.
Working together for you and your family so you have all the resources and information you need to live comfortably and stress-free.
